Mason Symphonic Band
Vital to the overall musical life of George Mason University, the Mason Symphonic band plays a key role in a students development as a performing artist and educator. Though primarily for music majors, members of the Mason Symphonic band come from all across our campus community with the singular goal of learning and performing modern and classic works for the wind band.

Literature
The band performs a cross section of music spanning over 300 years of wind band repertoire. From Gabrelli to Mackey, from Williams to Sousa to Steven Bryant, the directors strive to offer a diverse range of composers, styles and experiences. In addition, each semester students have the opportunity to play in chamber ensembles that form out of band membership, again offering a new and different experience for ensemble members

Auditions
Auditions for the band happen each semester - students can choose from pre-selected literature for their instrument, or bring a recently prepared solo(s) of their own choosing.  The band is one-credit, and will satisfy the university fine arts requirement.
