The Festival 
Each summer, from late June through July, over 200 young musicians from across the world travel to Sewanee Tennessee to live and breath classical orchestral and chamber music.  Through performance, lessons, master classes, and mock auditions, we seek not only to become better musicians but strive to find a deeper meaning in what we do as artists.  Weekly master classes and individual lessons allow you to learn the latest in performance practice, modern techniques for symphonic playing, and the newest ideas and concepts in contemporary chamber music. Students learn not only from accomplished faculty, but from each other, gaining the benefits of shared experiences.

Located in one of the most naturally stunning parts of the country, The Sewanee Music Festival is an opportunity to connect not only with your music, but with nature and the inspiration of the natural world.  Take an instrument head outside and practice, or just spend some time on the miles and miles of hiking trails that surround the domain, either way, you'll find inspiration all around you.
