BOSTON BRASS

12/2/2013

This past weekend, I had the great honor to perform with the Boston Brass, as part of their Christmas Bells are swingin Stan Kenton holiday show - over the course of 2 hours, I played Latin, Gospel tambourine, vibes, timpani, glock, snare drum....in all styles - and I had to improv.  We had one rehearsal - and most of these guys have been playing the show for years.  It was amazing - too much fun.  I am grateful for the years spent practicing set up pieces, and learning how to jump from instrument to instrument.
IT was, by far, the most fun I have had playing a "Christmas gig" in a long time

Students - practice your set up pieces - and sight reading.  A lot.

If you haven't checked them out - you should.
